Coalition of Anglican Children's Homes

three Children's Homes (CYCCs) for abused, abandoned, neglected children placed by Children's Court order; residential care, therapeutic support, education, skills development, sport and recreation **is_24hr:** Residential care facility — contact +27 11 616 4015 for enquiries and referrals. For acute child protection: Childline 116 (toll-free, 24/7) or SAPS 10111. Registered Anglican-affiliated NPO with over 100 years of experience providing residential and therapeutic care to abused, abandoned, and neglected children — operating from its head office at 5 Healey Road, Bedfordview (cnr St George's and Healy Roads), Gauteng. COACH comprises three children's homes placed in the Johannesburg area. **St Nicolas / St Joseph's Homes** in Kempton Park provide residential care for boys and girls aged 5 to 18 who have been removed from family care by order of the Children's Court — children who arrive, as COACH's own materials describe, "battered and abused and with little or no hope," and who are supported through residential care, therapeutic services, educational support, sport, and recreation to take the next step. Currently approximately 30 children are in residence. **St George's Home** in Sophiatown serves as a Life Campus for young people aged 14 to 21 who have previously lived on the streets and are unable to cope in mainstream school settings — providing skills development, life skills, and supported reintegration. Approximately 23 young people are in residence there. All children at COACH are placed by order of the Children's Court, confirming a formal legal finding that they were in need of care under the Children's Act. COACH's vision is to help children take the next step — beyond crisis, beyond the circumstances that brought them through its doors, toward possibility. Donations (including in-kind donations dropped at Kempton Park, Sophiatown, or Bedfordview) and volunteers are welcome. For child placement referrals (social workers and DSD officials): +27 11 616 4015 / coach.org.za.
