About
FAMSA Port Elizabeth is a trusted, long-standing non-profit family and relationship counselling organisation in Gqeberha, affiliated to the national FAMSA network established in 1954. Like all FAMSA affiliates, they believe that healthy families are the cornerstone of a healthy society — and they exist to support individuals, couples, and families when life becomes overwhelming.
Their therapeutic model is Time Limited Brief Therapy — a focused, goal-directed approach of up to six sessions per goal, making support accessible to people who cannot commit to long-term therapy. If more specialist or longer-term support is needed, their qualified social workers will assess and refer appropriately.
What They Offer Survivors
Domestic Violence and GBV Counselling and Victim Empowerment FAMSA PE is actively engaged in the fight against domestic violence and gender-based violence. Community and school-based awareness campaigns and educational sessions complement their direct support work.

Counselling is available for individuals, couples, and families, with intake and assessment happening on weekday mornings from Monday to Thursday.
