About
providing free initial trauma debriefing and counselling to crime victims, court support, referrals to emergency services, prevention awareness at schools, and group debriefing after mass incidents. The FVEP's counsellors were volunteers drawn from diverse backgrounds (teachers, paramedics, social workers, drug rehabilitation workers), vetted by both Flomotion and SAPS. The FVEP also helped establish similar programmes across Gauteng. The FVEP is no longer in active operation as a direct survivor service, but Flomotion still provides advice, guidance, and training for organisations or communities wishing to establish their own victim empowerment programmes (contact vep@flomotion.co.za). Flomotion's currently active services relevant to the GBV sector include: a Trauma Debriefing workshop (for workplaces and community groups after traumatic incidents), a Basic Counselling workshop (person-centred counselling skills training), OHS training, first aid training, and HR consulting. For direct GBV survivor support: GBV Command Centre 0800 428 428 (toll-free, 24/7).
