About

LifeLine Klerksdorp has been serving the people of North West Province since 1970 — one of South Africa's earliest LifeLine centres. Over more than 50 years, they have grown from a single crisis telephone line into a multi-site organisation running four crisis centres and a Thuthuzela Care Centre across three districts of North West. Their approach covers the full spectrum of emotional wellness services: trauma counselling, GBV support, grief, substance abuse, family challenges, and HIV/AIDS — always free, always confidential.

Their vision is of a North West Province where emotional wellness is accessible to all — regardless of location, language, or income.

What They Offer Survivors

Four Crisis Centres Across North West LifeLine KLD's four physical crisis centres bring face-to-face counselling and GBV support across a vast geographic area: - KOSH Crisis Centre — Klerksdorp (serves the KOSH sub-region: Klerksdorp, Orkney, Stilfontein, Hartbeesfontein) - Tlokwe Crisis Centre — Potchefstroom - Kgakala Crisis Centre — Leeudoringstad - Thuthuzela One-Stop Centre — Vryburg (serving the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District)

Thuthuzela Care Centre — Vryburg LifeLine KLD manages the Thuthuzela Care Centre in Vryburg — a one-stop facility for sexual assault survivors providing 24-hour forensic, medical, psychosocial, and legal support under one roof.

Trauma Counselling Individual trauma counselling using a Solution Focused Brief Therapy and CBT approach is available at all crisis centres — for survivors of GBV, sexual violence, grief, substance abuse, family crisis, anxiety, depression, and more.

GBV and Sexual Violence Response LifeLine KLD provides first-response support to GBV and rape survivors at their crisis centres and at the Vryburg TCC — including crisis intervention, containment, psychosocial support, and referrals.

Family, Group, and Corporate Counselling Counselling is available for individuals, families, and groups — as well as employee wellness counselling for corporate clients in the mining and business sectors of North West Province.

HIV and AIDS Support Given the significant HIV burden in North West Province, LifeLine KLD integrates HIV counselling, testing, and support into their wider services.

Telephone and 24-Hour Support Crisis telephone support is available through the LifeLine national line (0861 322 322) and the Stop Gender Violence Helpline (0800 150 150) — both of which are answered nationally and are available to anyone in North West Province at any hour.

LifeLine KLD has four service points across North West Province. Call your nearest crisis centre directly — KOSH: 018 465 5868 | Tlokwe: 018 293 4658 | Vryburg TCC: 053 927 1091 | Kgakala: 074 321 2468.
