Professional trained staff provide a homelike environment. Each child works with a social worker addressing behavioural and social challenges from their trauma history. Children attend local schools, participate in sport, and are described by staff as "outstanding residents of the Hangklip/Kleinmond community — they never cease to amaze us." **GBV relevance:** CWSA Kleinmond's social workers conduct child protection investigations and statutory work across the Overstrand area — the first-line child protection referral point for the Kleinmond/Proteadorp/Hangklip area. Over 40 years later, CWSA Kleinmond provides the full child welfare continuum for the Overstrand coastal belt: the Overstrand CYCC residential home (25 court-placed children, ages 5–15, in a homelike professional care environment with individual social work support); three early childhood development centres — Bambanani Day Care (Overhills, 29 babies), Pikkewyntjies Pre-Primary, and Siyabulela Pre-Primary (Proteadorp, 148 children, 21+ years); and statutory child protection social work across the area. Children at the CYCC attend local schools, participate in sport, and thrive in the community. Court-ordered referrals via Children's Court or DSD social workers.
